Undergraduate Curriculum

The requirements for B.S. degree in physics include the must courses and ten elective courses listed below. Four of these elective courses (Restricted Electives) must be taken from the Concentrations. At least two of the remaining six elective courses must be taken from other departments. Remaining four courses should consist of two Technical Electives and two Free Electives.

Courses taken from the Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Statistics and all Engineering Departments are counted as Technical Electives. All courses except courses from Physics Department are counted as Non-Departmental Electives. Regardless of departments, all courses can be counted as Free Electives.

Number Type of Elective Department(s)
2 Restricted (core) Physics
2 Restricted Physics
2 Technical Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Statistics and all Engineering Departments
2 Non-Departmental Non-230xxxx
2 Free All

Please note that, starting from 2023-1 (Fall) semester, first year students should take MATH 119 and MATH 120 courses instead MATH 117 and MATH 118, respectively (see the updated curriculum given below).
