Abstract: The construction of the eROSITA telescope that will fly on the Russian-German Spektr Roentgen Gamma mission with a planned launch in Spring 2016 is nearing completion. I will report on the scientific objectives of the mission and also give an overview on the design, development and testing of the X-ray telescope.
