Abstract: Understanding local microscopic structures by classifying all possible macroscopic outcome is what every physicist strives for. History has shown that low/high energy physics, quantum information, topology and geometry get together around this problem inspite of the lack of a unifying perspective.

In this talk, I’ll optimistically argue that tensor networks provide this perspective which we need in order to crack this problem. Our journey will start from the basics of tensor networks and continue through topological quantum field theories, renormalization and holography.
