Exploring the computational universe: in search of novel materials and intelligent life
Abstract: In this talk we will take a journey in the computational universe. I will first show how the state-of-the-art computational tools can be used to discover novel materials. Mentioning some of the recent success stories I will argue that these discoveries can inspire solid progress in technology. Then I will speculate about the place in the computational universe where we might encounter intelligent life forms.
Reminder: Tea and cookies will be in the seminar room before the seminar.
