Colour Converters and Filters in Optoelectronic Devices
Abstract: Colour converters and filters play critical role in determining the spectrum of imaging and display systems. Phosphors and quantum dots (QD) are widely used as colour converters in light emitting diode (LED) based liquid crystal displays (LCD). On the other hand, pigmented or dye-doped colour resists arranged in colour filter arrays (CFA) are implemented in most of the charge-coupled device (CCD), complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) and LCD based devices. These materials provide a low-cost and practical way of fine-tuning the colour spectrum with the integration of well-controlled micro-electronics. In this presentation, colour capturing and reproduction techniques based on colour converters and filters for optoelectronic devices will be introduced. A special emphasis will be given to the multi/hyper-spectral systems and their applications.
